Immerse yourself in the beauty of indigo dyeing and the art of shibori in this hands-on workshop! Perfect for crafters, art enthusiasts, or anyone looking to try something new, this experience combines traditional techniques with modern creativity.
Discover the magic of indigo, a natural plant-based dye that produces a breathtaking deep blue hue. Throughout the session you’ll:
Learn the History and Process: Gain insight into the cultural significance of indigo dyeing and the traditional Japanese technique of shibori.
Master Shibori Folding Techniques: Experiment with folding, twisting, binding, and tying fabric to create unique resist patterns. From bold geometric designs to soft organic shapes, the possibilities are endless.
Dye and Reveal Your Creations: Watch as your patterns come to life when dipped into the indigo vat, unveiling striking blue and white contrasts that are both timeless and modern.
You’ll leave the workshop with beautiful, hand-dyed creations—such as a kitchen towel, pillow case, or bamboo socks—that are not only stunning but also functional. Whether you keep them as cherished items or gift them to someone special, they’ll carry the story of your artistry.
