Indigo is a natural plant that creates a stunning deep blue color. Join us as we learn about this magical dye and utilize shibori folding techniques to create stunning and useful items.
Shibori is a Japanese dyeing technique that involves folding, twisting or bunching cloth to create resist patterns. The fabric is bound and dyed in indigo creating striking blue and white contrast designs.
What's Included:
- 2 hours of guided instruction
- Dye vat demonstration
- Prep tools and dyeable items
- 3 dyeable items: select from our library of dyeables (examples: kitchen towel, tote bag, socks, bandana)
Additional dyeable items will be available for purchase at the event. Students are also able to bring a small item from home to dye (natural fibers like cotton and linen are best).
