Ice Dyeing Workshop
Ice Dyeing Workshop
Instructor: Amy Guerrero, Sunshine Craft Co Owner
Level: Beginner
Location: Sunshine Craft Co (address/map here)
Available Dates:
Saturday, September 21st, 3-5pm
Discover the vibrant and ethereal art of ice dyeing and create stunning, one-of-a-kind designs with the magic of melting ice!
Learn the fundamentals of this captivating textile transformation technique as you create unique patterns using powdered fiber reactive dyes. Bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment — leave with beautiful, custom-dyed pieces that you'll be proud to show off!
We will review two types of ice dyeing: one method on a rack, allowing the melting ice to dye the fabric as it drips through, and another "in the muck," where the fabric sits directly in the ice melt. You will leave with your items in sealed containers along with rinse and wash instructions to complete at home after 24+ hours.
This seasonal workshop only comes around once a year! Join us before we retire this unit until next summer.
What's Included:
- 2 hours of guided instruction
- All prep items, dye, and ice
- Gloves, masks, and aprons
- 2 dyeable items: select from our library of dyeables (examples: kitchen towel, tote bag, socks, bandana)

Additional dyeable items will be available for purchase at the event. Students are also able to bring a small item from home to dye (natural fibers like cotton and linen are best).
